Multicultural School Gardens
Multicultural School Gardens is an innovative three-year project engaging ethnic Victorians, particularly targeting older community members, to share their skills and knowledge with students in Victorian schools to create multicultural food gardens and cook their own produce. Disadvantaged schools will be invited to apply for 40 places over the three years of the project.

Schoolgrounds for Learning
Schoolgrounds for Learning trains and mentors teachers and their school planning team to develop a schoolgrounds masterplan and implementation plans to enrich learning and play resources and provide opportunities for schools to incorporate environmental sustainability. The delivery format, using a blend of workshops, mentoring and online learning through Sustainability Wiz, is designed for busy teachers to maximize their impact on greening the schoolgrounds and incorporating rich, real-life learning and student leadership into the school.

The Sustainables Challenge
The Sustainables Challenge is the schools’ element of Department of Sustainability and Environment’s The Sustainables Household Challenge to encourage Victorians to undertake ten key sustainable actions at home. The program equips teachers through professional development sessions, units of work, website information and a performance by The Sustainables Troupe.

Backyards for Learning
Introducing children and families to the wonders of the environment and more sustainable living in their own backyards, this unique sustainability campaign aims to save water, nurutre an appreciation of landscaping and encourage families to use their backyards as an environmental classroom.
